KornFerry: Celebrating Forty Years

I almost missed my career opportunity at Korn/Ferry! In the fall of 1993, Alan Neely called me to discuss recruiting me from Paul Ray Berndtson in Atlanta to KFI. I agreed to have breakfast with him to discuss the opportunity. We agreed to meet at 7:30 a.m. - and by 8:15 am he had not shown up. I decided I had better call him. Now this was before cell phones - so I had to go to a pay phone/look up his home number. His wife, Butchie, answered the phone. I told her who I was, and lo and behold, Alan was in the shower! He had totally forgotten! What a great first impression of Korn/Ferry! Obviously, we agreed on a new date - thankfully, he showed up - and I just completed my 15th year at Korn/Ferry. I've never let Alan forget this story.
