I started six days before the Global Partners meeting in Hawaii in 1994. It was a spectacular way to meet my new colleagues and celebrate what was then a 25-year old premier organization.
One of the most memorable highlights was an old-fashioned clam bake with everyone dressed in beach attire. Bunny Palazzo and her team had the creative idea to set out a table near the buffet with about 100 filled water-pistols. It doesn't take much imagination to guess what happened next. A free-for-all water fight broke out with no boundaries, no teams, and 100 armed snipers and guerilla fighters. The antics did not even stop when the pistols emptied - instead, people were refilling them with their drinking water, Perrier, or whatever was handy.
While it was great fun, more importantly, it showed me that I joined a company that knew how to work hard and play hard. The firm had a lot to celebrate. Here I am 15 years later.
